Named after the theatre that used to be opposite it before the street widenings in the 1930, the Criterion Hotel retains nearly all of its original brickwork and glasswork. Some examples seen include vibrant yellows and browns fan style windows throught the bar area. The roof is topped with colourful yellow porcelin style bricks.
