The Australian
Provincial Assurance building, designed by David King in 1932
is notable for its exterior cladding of cream-glazed terracotta
relieved by white flecks, and green-glazed horizontal accents.
The building sits on a base of red granite which related to the
Rural Bank (demolished) on the opposite corner.
